Taking Care of the Caregiver

Taking Care of the Caregiver

Working with children can be stressful, but Rachel Tapping is here to guide you through some experientials that will leave you feeling connected with your inner child and bring back that child-like curiosity. Inspired by Emmi Pikler's approach to early childhood care, this session emphasises the importance of putting the practitioner at the heart of early years care and is guaranteed to equip you with invaluable skills to help manage that stress.

The Art of Playfulness: The Application of Self-Care in Practice takes place at 15:30 at The Workshop Hub: Create - don't miss out!

Following her presentation, Piklerian Early Childhood Specialist, Rachel Tapping, will take you through some simple, enjoyable experientials that will leave you feeling more connected to your inner child and more able to let go of the stress that sometimes goes alongside working with young children.

Through this exploration, we can regain that beautiful childlike wonder about the simple things in life. By reconnecting with our own feelings of curiosity and taking time to explore them, we gain a better understanding of both our own and the child’s perspective on the world.

Emmi Pikler’s approach to early childhood care is the inspiration for this therapeutic approach, putting the adult / practitioner at the centre – taking care of the caregiver.
