Clare Crowther

Head of Nursery, Atelier Nursery Ltd

With over 30 years of experience in early years education, I have been fortunate to work across a variety of roles, from Nursery Educator to Local Authority Trainer and Consultant. These experiences have shaped my deep commitment to supporting children, families, and educators in creating the best possible start in life.

Currently, I am the Director of Atelier Nursery, where I lead the day-to-day running of our two Ofsted Outstanding settings. Our nurseries are built on the principles of quality, collaboration, and curiosity, with influences from the Reggio Emilia and Froebel approaches. I am also proud to oversee Atelier Consultancy, offering tailored training and professional development opportunities to inspire and support Early Years practitioners.

I hold a degree in Early Years Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership, Forest School Training, and the NPQEYL. These qualifications have enriched my practice and continue to inform my work. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to publications and podcasts that highlight the importance of quality pedagogy and enabling environments.

Atelier Nursery has been honoured with several Nursery World Awards, including Nursery of the Year, Nursery Manager of the Year, Enabling Environments, and Working with Babies and Twos. These accolades reflect our shared dedication to creating settings where children and staff alike feel valued, inspired, and supported.

I am excited to be part of the Nursery World Big Day Out and to share some of the insights and experiences gained throughout my career. It’s a privilege to connect with so many passionate Early Years professionals who share the same goal: making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
