Sian Millar started her career in Early Years in 2005, setting up a group that grew to a multimillion pound business over multiple sites. After selling in 2019, she pursued other career opportunities in other sectors, but returned to Childcare in 2023 setting up Polka Dot Farm in Essex. This site grew to 106 children per day in a matter of weeks, being at full occupancy a handful of months after first opening their doors. They have remained fully booked ever since opening, and have a long waiting list. 

Sian has experience in setting nurseries up from scratch, buying going concerns, taking over council run nurseries, and turning around failing private nurseries. Her skills lie in strategic business planning, marketing and finance. 

In 2022, Sian set up “The Boardroom” which supports a handful of Nursery Directors each year to grow and exit their nursery businesses, by focusing on the key elements that corporate buyers look for.
