Tara Russell
Tara is a multidisciplinary artist, arts educator, and passionate advocate for creativity in early years education. With a First-Class Honours degree in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Distinction in MA Art & Material Histories from City & Guilds of London Art School, Tara's practice explores the intersections of art, science, play, and philosophy, focusing on materiality and sensory perception. At Woodentops, as an Artist Educator, she has facilitated children's creative inquiry through Reggio Emilia-inspired art and science explorations, showcased annually in exhibitions celebrating their creativity. A champion of inclusive, sensory-rich learning, fostering environments where all children can thrive, Tara will share insights into scheme-driven process art at the Big Day Out, demonstrating how these open-ended creative experiences support cognitive, emotional, and social development in early childhood.
